Francisco Xavier Manzanero Escutia

SENIOR FOUNDER PARTNER

Graduated from Escuela Libre de Derecho and admitted to bar in April 1983 with the dissertation work titled “The Requisition in Mexico”. He further completed a Master’s degree plan of studies in Admiralty Law at Tulane University School of Law, in New Orleans, Louisiana (1985-1986).

He has continued specializing in Admiralty Law, attending a series of seminars organized by the Iberoamerican Institute of Maritime Law, and participating in a “Conference on Admiralty Law within the International Environment” held in London – among others.

His professional practice started in 1979 as Paralegal for the law firm of Attorney Angel G. Gamboa y Palma that primarily engaged in Civil, Mercantile and Labor law. Further, in 1980, he worked for the law firm Basham, Ringe & Correa where he performed as Paralegal mainly focused on Civil and Mercantile law. Later in 1980, he joined law firm García Barragán, Hamdan y Sánchez Reyes, S. C. also as Paralegal, with special focus on Mercantile, Civil and Administrative law. Once admitted to bar, he continued working as Attorney for the same law firm.

In October 1989, he founded the law firm Hamdan, Manzanero y Asociados, S. C.

Assistant Professor to Mr. Fauzi Hamdan Amad, in the first course of Administrative Law (1983-/2000)
Professor of the first course of Administrative Law (1992).
Professor of the Seminar of Administrative Law (1999-2000).

Universidad Panamericana (Panamerican University)
Professor of the first and second courses of Administrative Law (1986 to date).
Professor of Specialty studies in Administrative Law (1991, 1993 and 1995 to date).
Professor of Specialty studies in International Mercantile Law – Carriage of Goods by Sea (1997-2004).
Professor of the Postgraduate program in Corporate and Economic Law, and Mercantile Corporations Law, campus Guadalajara, Jalisco (1997 to date).
Professor of the Postgraduate program in Administrative and Constitutional law and Amparo proceedings, campus Guadalajara, Jalisco (2002 to date).

From 1994 to 1997, he performed as Alternate Representative to Mr. Fauzi Hamdan Amad at the Local Congress of Mexico, Federal District, and as Alternate Congressman to Mr. Hamdan at the Federal Congress during the LVII Legislature (1997-2000).

From 1997 to this date, he has been member of the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados, A.C. (Mexican Bar Association), where he performed as Assistant Coordinator of the Commission of Administrative Law (1998), and as Coordinator of the same Commission from 1999 to 2000. Mr. Manzanero is also member of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México (Illustrious National Lawyers Association of Mexico), and supernumerary member of the Academia Mexicana de Jurisprudencia y Legislación (Mexicana Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation).
